Having to get up one or several times a night to empty your bladder is an issue that hinders the quality of your resting time and that might leave you drowsy and unable to concentrate properly during the day. Here are some things that you can do to help you sleep through the night without trips to the bathroom:
- Avoid excessive fluid intake before bedtime – staying properly hydrated is essential for your health, therefore you should make sure that you consume enough liquids during the day, but try not to drink too much 2-3 hours before you go to bed;
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine and tobacco before bedtime – it is a good idea to reduce or to eliminate the consumption of these substances during the day, but they are absolutely essential to avoid before bed because of their stimulant effects that hinder sleep quality and their diuretic effects that will wake you up several times during the night;
- Get a medical checkup – if the above changes do not seem to bring about the desired effects, talk to your doctor about treatment for uterine fibroids and get your general health examined to find out what causes you to get up to pee at night.
