Drs Kovaleski and Nutting have treated more than 4000 patients with liver directed radioembolization and proctor other physicians around the country. They pioneered the early use of this therapy more than 20 years ago and have brought their expertise to the outpatient clinic setting. We treat liver tumors, primarily, with an intervention called “embolization,” which means that we go into the arteries and cut off the blood supply to the tumors, thereby starving them of oxygen and causing them to shrink or disappear.
